Eastside Dermatology offers the following cosmetic procedures:

Acne Peels- An acne peel is the application of a glycolic acid gel to the face for a short period of time.  The desired results of an acne peel are the improvement of the texture and appearance of the complexion.

Botox®-  Very small amounts of a purified protein is injected into the skin to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.  Botox is frequently used for frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet.

Juvederm®-  A sterile gel consisting of non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid is injected into the skin to correct facial lines, wrinkles, and folds.  It is commonly used for lip enhancement and for shaping the facial contours.

Laser/Photofacial- The laser uses a pulsed beam of intense light, focused on a small spot; this allows the surgeon to treat the lesion and spare normal tissue. This treatment is used to treat tiny broken blood vessels and brown spots of the face.

Sclerotherapy- A tiny needle is threaded into the blood vessel and a small amount of a sclerosing agent is gently injected.  The injection “flushes” out the red blood cells temporarily, leading to an inflammatory reaction.  This reaction causes “sclerosis” or the formation of fibrous tissue within the vessel, leading to the gradual disappearance of the vessel.  This method is used to remove unsightly “broken” or enlarged veins on the legs.
